Christmas in Iowa

"Christmas in Iowa" details Christmas celebrations from families across the state, including the Amana Colonies, Danish community, Van Buren County, Mitchell County, Winneshiek County, Davenport, Marshalltown, Iowa City, Storm Lake, Waterloo and Cedar Falls. Varying Christmas traditions are shared, from farms to cities, from the homefront to across seas from soldiers fighting in WWI. In addition to stories, the book also includes Christmas poems, songs and illustrations. Resource can be used with the following standards to further develop lessons: 3rd grade SS 3.28 Cultural Contributions.
