Indians of Iowa

This book explains the history of Native Americans in Iowa. It describes each tribe that came to Iowa, rather that be traveling through or settling. The book also explains the culture of each Native tribe in the Iowa area. This book corresponds with the following standards: Standard SS.3.27 Immigration and Migration: A lesson could be created on the migration of these Native tribes, rather that be passing through Iowa or being forced out of Iowa. Standard SS.3.28 Cultural Contributions: A lesson could be made on the how these Native American tribes culturally contributed to Iowan society. Standard SS Gov.9-12.28 Iowa Issues and Policy: A lesson could be made about Iowan Policies that relate to these specific tribes. A lesson on the issues between early settlers and Native Americans could be created as well.
